Suzy Eban, widow of Abba Eban, dies at age 90

Suzy Eban, the widow of Israel's master statesman, architect of diplomacy and one of the pioneers of Israel's diplomatic corps, Abba Eban, who inter alia coined the expression "The Palestinians never miss an opportunity to miss opportunity" has died at age 90.
Born Suzy Ambache, in Ismalia, Egypt, where her father, was an engineer, she moved with her family to Cairo when she was still an adolescent, and was a student at Cairo's famed American University. It was in Cairo during World War Two that she met a dashing young British officer by the name of Aubrey Eban, who swept her off her feet. 
She is survived by her son, world famous clarinetist Prof. Eli Eban, her daughter Gila, two grandchildren, and two sisters, Aura Herzog, the widow of Israel's sixth President Chaim Herzog, to whom she was very close and Tsilla Castle.
Suzy Eban will be laid to rest on Sunday alongside her husband at the Kfar Shmaryahu Cemetery.
