The Shas minister said: "For the past twenty years, the perception of the Finance Ministry has been that there is no need for public housing in Israel, and that we need to cancel the policy in it's entirety in order to give better assistance on renting property. The prime minister also supports this stance."
Atias turned to the Finance Ministry in hopes of improving the quality and availability of public housing, yet claimed in his interview with Army Radio that his pleas have been ignored.
