Official PA news calls Jerusalem terror attack a 'car crash'

The Palestinian Authority's official Wafa news service described Wednesday's terror attack in Jerusalem as a car crash in which Israelis happened to be killed.The headline on the English-language site read "Israel Police Shoots [sic] , Kills Jerusalemite upon Car Crash."The story goes on to say that the driver lost control of his car and happened to kill a police officer and injure "at least 10 others" Wafa's reports were negated later in the day when family members said the attack was intentional and that they were proud of him.The wife of terrorist Ibrahim al-Aqari said Wednesday that he decided to go out on his mission of "martyrdom" when he saw images of blood and wounded people during clashes with police forces at the Temple Mount early in the morning. In the interview, she said that "he rushed out to become a martyr and hero."One of al-Aqari's sons said he was proud of the attack that his father carried out.The attack took place when al-Aqari drove his car directly into pedestrians at the Shimon Ha-Tsadik light rail station.Border Police officer Jidan Assad, 38, from the Druze village of Beit Jaan died of injuries and 14 others were hurt, three of them seriously.Khaled Abu Toameh and Daniel K.
