Channel 2 poll: Likud gains most votes, Lapid becomes 2nd largest party

If elections were held today, the Likud would lose a number of Knesset seats but still maintain a plurality in parliament while Yair Lapid’s Yesh Atid faction becomes the second-largest party in the legislature, according to a new poll commissioned Saturday by Channel 2.
The poll, which was done a year to the day that elections for the 20th Knesset were held, gives Likud, led by incumbent Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the best chance to form the next coalition.
According to the poll’s results, Likud would receive 26 seats, down from its current 30 seats, while Yesh Atid wins 19 seats, a sharp increase from its current 11 seats.
Zionist Union would lose its status as the largest opposition faction, falling from 24 seats to 18 seats.
