IBA staff protest move from Jerusalem

The staff of the Israel Broadcasting Authority demonstrated Saturday night outside the home of Jerusalem mayor Nir Barkat to protest the move of their jobs to the offices of the new Public Broadcasting Corporation in Modi'in.
The demonstrators noted that the law requires news broadcasts to take place from the capital. They sang the song Jerusalem of Gold and chanted "We aren't leaving Jerusalem."
The jobs of the IBA news staffers were saved by a deal between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon. The staff of the corporation news staff will also be saved, due to a decision Kahlon made last week to expand its budget.
