Dozens of employees of the Israel Broadcasting Authority (IBA) held a protest on Sunday in Jerusalem against the entity's pending closure.Demonstrators protesting possible layoffs from the public broadcasting network in light of the debated establishment of the new Israel Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) were planning to hand out candies bearing the slogan "today us, tomorrow you" to motorists near the capital's iconic Chords Bridge.Meanwhile, a protest was also planned in Tel Aviv outside the office of Histadrut labor union chairman Avi Nissenkorn, who according to the rally organizers was not prepared to prevent the loss of more than 1,000 IBA jobs. The coalition tailspinned into a crisis on Saturday night after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reneged on a deal with Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon over the establishment of the IBC, which would replace the IBA and operate under less government control.
