The Original Women of the Wall prayer group was prevented from bringing a Torah scroll into the Western Wall plaza on Sunday. The small group of women had intended to read from the Torah in their afternoon prayer service, as is required on a fast day. Security guards at the site denied them access however, in accordance with the regulations for the Western Wall which prohibits bringing in private Torah scrolls to the site. OWOW, which has split off from the Women of the Wall organization, has a petition before the High Court of Justice requesting that this regulation be annulled.
