Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres landed in Israel on Sunday evening.
He was greeted at the airport by Israeli ambassador to the UN Danny Danon who said:"We welcome your arrival and are looking forward to present Israel to you in the next few days [as] an island of prosperity and stability in the stormy Middle East."
On Monday Guterres is expected to visit Yad Vashem and to meet with President Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On Monday evening he will attend a special event alongside the prime minister, an evening devoted to Israeli innovation to be held in the Israel Museum.
