Veteran broadcaster Anat Dolev succumbs to multiple sclerosis

Veteran broadcaster Anat Dolev died on Saturday after a long battle with multiple sclerosis. Dolev 52, who was a long time employee of the Israel Broadcasting Authority, started her broadcasting career at Army Radio, and for a time she also worked for Metro, one of the regional supplements of The Jerusalem Post.
At the IBA she worked in both television and radio, though primarily radio. In recent years, she was the anchor for ‘At Three with Anat Dolev’ a daily afternoon program on Reshet Bet, in which she conducted in depth interviews with people from many walks of life with a special emphasis on culture, literature, health and religious tradition.. She was still working last week, even though it was an extreme effort for her to get to the studio.
There was nothing in her style of broadcasting to betray to listeners that she was seriously ill. Shimon Alkabetz, the IBA’s editor in Chief and the director of Israel Radio described Dolev as “wise, funny, curious and opinionated.”
Alkabetz lauded Dolev for her vast knowledge and her ability to look at almost any subject from a variety of perspectives. She is survived by her son. Details of the funeral had not been released at press time.
