Security forces apprehended two Palestinian terror suspects overnight following intelligence received on alleged plans to attack Israeli civilians.One of the suspects, from Jenin, was arrested in an apartment he was using as a hideout in Beersheba, after security forces received intelligence that he was planning to stab local residents. The arrest was carried out jointly by police, Border Police and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency).RELATED:December sees significant rise in terror incidents Man hurt in stabbing near J'lem; terror suspected The suspect was taken for questioning.Meanwhile, a second suspect, from Gaza, was arrested at a police checkpoint set up north of Beersheba following intelligence that he too was linked to a terrorism plot.Security forces remain on a high state of alert in southern Israel due to intentions by terror organizations in Gaza and the Sinai Peninsula to launch attacks.The police's Southern District is also specially deployed to be able to provide a swift response time to rocket attacks from Gaza.
