Israeli fighter jets strike Gaza in response to rocket fire
Army says four terror sites were successfully hit in the coastal enclave; late Saturday two rockets landed in open areas in southern Israel.

The Israel Air Force (IAF) struck four sites in the Gaza Strip on Sunday morning in response to rockets that were fired into Israel late Saturday night.According to the army, the targets - three terror sites in the southern part of the territory and one terror site in the central part of the coastal enclave - were all successfully hit. Two rockets fired from Gaza fell in southern Israel in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council on Saturday before midnight.The rockets landed in open areas and there was no damage reported.Earlier on Saturday, a rocket launched toward southern Israel exploded in open territory near the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council.Saturday's attacks were the latest in a string of rocket firings emanating from the Palestinian enclave over the past week.On Friday night, the Iron Dome rocket defense system successfully intercepted a rocket fired from over the southern city of Ashkelon.The Israel Air Force similarly retaliated on Friday with targeted strikes on terror sites in Gaza.Yaakov Lappin contributed to this report.
