The Jewish National Fund- USA 2017 National Conference will kick off in South Florida this weekend, with major announcements expected over the course of the three-day confab.The organization recently ended its fiscal year having raised more than $90 million, bringing its 10-year $1 billion goal – now entering its fifth year – to more than $460m.The JNF conference brings together more than 1,000 leaders, philanthropists, young professionals and college and high school students from across the United States and Israel to learn about the key issues now facing Israel and world Jewry.Two hundred and fifty college students from more than 100 US campuses will take part in JNF’s College Summit in addition to the more than 100 young JNFuture leaders, ages 22 to 40, who will participate in special sessions to learn about and promote JNF’s work.Plans are expected to be shared about JNF’s Housing Development Fund completing 800 new housing sites in northern and southern Israel by early 2019. The fund has already built 700 sites in the last several years.With this construction, JNF will have provided the means for more than 1,500 families to call the Negev and Galilee home.Another significant JNF project expected to be announced is the organization’s expansion to a second campus in Beersheba of the Alexander Muss High School in Israel. Working with Beersheba Mayor Ruvik Danilovich, a new park will be added to complement population growth and draw others to the area. This global hub of cybersecurity and hi-tech in the South was profiled last year on CBS’s 60 Minutes.Speakers scheduled for the conference include: Construction Minister Yoav Gallant; Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer; World Jewish Congress president Ronald S.
