Suspects in Netanya gas explosion released to house arrest

An alleged metal thief and a gas technician, both arrested this week on suspicion of being linked to the deadly gas explosion which claimed four lives in Netanya this week were released to house arrested on Wednesday.
Rahamim Guita, of Netanya, is suspected of cutting a gas pipe as part of an attempt to steal metal and sell it later, allegedly causing a massive gas leak before the explosion. He was released to 10 days' house arrest. Guitas attorney said no evidence existed proving that he was linked to the leak.
Daniel Yisrael, of Raanana, a gas technician suspected of failing to repair the damage after being called out to the building, was released to seven days' house arrest.
Police are continuing the investigation.
