Authorities ease Palestinian travel rules for Eid al-Adha

The IDF Spokesperson's Unit and the Civil Authority in the West Bank announced on Tuesday an relaxation of travel restrictions for Palestinian residents of the West Bank celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha (Festival of the Sacrifice).
The easing of restrictions included an extension of operating hours for several major crossings in the West Bank, the temporary removal of 24 road blocks and the permission of West Bank Palestinians to visit close relatives living in Israel based on specific security risk criteria.
In addition, Palestinian married men over the age of 50 and Palestinian women older than 45 will be allowed swift access to the Temple Mount (where the al-Aksa and Dome of the Rock mosques are located) for the next month of Friday prayers, in accordance with directives sent by the Defense Ministry. Married men between the ages of 45 and 50 and married women 30-45 will be also be allowed onto the Temple Mount with special authorization.
