Kibbutz Gevat's Broshi to head United Kibbutz Movement

The United Kibbutz Movement elected Eitan Broshi of Kibbutz Gevat in an election on Tuesday. He defeated former Meretz MK Avshalom Vilan and Nimrod Madar.
Broshi will succeed veteran Kibbutz Movement leader Ze'ev Shor, who complained Tuesday that neither Labor nor Meretz gave a kibbutz member a realistic slot for the Knesset.
The only MK in the new Knesset who lives on a kibbutz is Bayit Yehudi's Zevulun Kalfa, a member of Kibbutz Shomriya and an evacuee from Gush Katif. Some 140,000 Israelis live on kibbutzim.
