Israel warns its citizens in India of possible al-Qaida terror attacks
The alert suggests Israeli tourists may be attacked at hotels, Chabad centers, synagogues, restaurants, community centers.

Israel alerted its citizens abroad in India of a possible terror threat from al-Qaida and its affiliated groups, giving rise to fears that terrorist groups were making inroads in the country, according to India Today.Israel warned Indian intelligence forces that al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula and Ansar al-Sharia may target Israeli citizens.The alert came ahead of Jewish holidays and festivals in May and June, and suggested that there is a possibility that Israeli tourists may be attacked at hotels, Chabad centers, synagogues, restaurants, community centers and other places of Jewish congregation.The warning also suggested there could be danger to Israelis at Indian airports and even at seaports where Israeli ships arrive. In the Mumbai terror attacks in 2008, Jewish centers were specifically targeted.In 2012, terrorist attacks targeted Israeli citizens in India and in Bulgaria. Attempted terrorist attacks were thwarted that same year against Israeli targets in Thailand and Georgia.
