A man was killed in a driveby shooting in the Beduin village of Hura on Friday, Negev subdistrict police reported.
A subdistrict spokesman said police arrived at the scene after receiving a call about a brawl in the village where they found a local man in his 50s sitting in his vehicle in critical condition.
Magen David Adom reported that two of its paramedics rushed to the scene in a civilian vehicle and evacuated the man to Soroka-University Medical Center in Beersheba, where he was pronounced dead.
Police determined the man was shot while sitting in his car by assailants in a passing vehicle. Though it appears he was killed by the gunshots, his body was sent to the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute to determine the cause of death.
Following the shooting, police from the subdistrict sent reinforcements to search for the suspects and prevent further violence in the village as a result of the killing.
