Pride parade kicks off in Jerusalem

Thousands of Israelis gathered in the capitol on Thursday for the Jerusalem Gay Pride parade.

Some 10,000 are attending the Jerusalem LGBT pride parade on Thursday.
The march started at Gan Hapaamon park and is planned to finish at the Independence Park.

A wide range of political parties and NGOs are taking part at the parade and several MKs, such as opposition leader Isaac Herzog and Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid are marching as well.
The theme of this year's parade is LGBT and religion.

Police said that 12 suspects were detained since the event started, including one with a knife.
This comes after a report the a 33-year-old man was arrested this morning after posting on Facebook threats related to the parade. He received a order to stay away from the city until tomorrow.
