Netanyahu: Extremist Islamists, ISIS and Iran using technology to take the world backward

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned against the forces of extremist Islam using technology for nefarious purposes in comments he made to the CyberTech 2016 conference at the Tel Aviv Trade Fair and Convention Center on Tuesday."There is currently a struggle between the forces of good and the forces of evil, led by extremist Islam, Iran and ISIS," Army Radio quoted the prime minister as saying."They are using technology that is intended to push humanity forward, to take the world backward," he added.The prime minister said that Israel was committed to the fight against these forces.Hundreds of international delegations were attending the CyberTech 2016 Conference.The third annual event drew state leaders, representatives of leading multinational and Israeli corporations and startups, investors and entrepreneurs in the field of cyber security.A US delegation led by Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, a large Japanese representation, a group of Canadian banking executives and a delegation organized by the International Monetary Fund from developing countries were among those expected to attend what is referred to as the largest exhibition of cyber technologies outside the United States.More than 250 companies and 100 startups were due to present their strategies and solutions at the event.
