The fourth episode of iTravelJerusalem’s CITYsights takes us from Hezekiah’s Tunnel, in the City of David, to the Broad Wall built by King Hezekiah to block the invading armies of the Assyrian monarch Sennacherib.
As can be seen in the video, the Broad Wall, like Hezekiah’s Tunnel, is one of the most awe-inspiring of Jerusalem sites and is tied in to one of the more baffling mysteries (or miracles) of the Bible: Where did the hoards of Sennacherib disappear to while they were laying siege to the city?

After Hezekiah’s Tunnel we continue on to another rampart, a remnant of a more unfortunate time in the history of Jerusalem, which was built not long after Hezekiah’s wall and is preserved, in all its sad splendor, just under street level in the Old City.
Stay tuned next week for another episode of CITYsights.
