Ish-ran and her husband Amichai were among seven civilians wounded while waiting at a bus stop on Route 60 near Ofra. Palestinian terrorists drove by the bus stop and sprayed it with bullets, and then sped away. Soldiers shot at their vehicle but failed to halt its flight. The terrorists, brothers Assam and Salah Barghouti, have since been located by the Shin Bet. Salah was killed during his arrest while Assam is currently in interrogation.Shira Ish-Ran, in her 30th week of pregnancy, was critically wounded. Doctors delivered the baby boy, whom the couple named Amiad Israel, via Caesarean section. The premature infant died three days later.“It’s not clear to me how our rehabilitation has progressed so quickly and in such a good way,” Shira Ish-Ran told a crowd of reporters on her way out of the hospital. “Your prayers help. Keep praying. I also want to thank the hospital staff, how much they did for us and with sensitivity. It’s just unbelievable.” She continued, “I want to thank the Holy One, blessed be He.
