Former managing director of the Israeli Diamond Institute Eli Avidar joined Yisrael Beiteinu and was given the position of head of that party's diplomacy team, a press release on behalf of the party said on Thursday.
Avidar wrote the 2015 book The Abyss: Bridging the Divide between Israel and the Arab World, he and Yisrael Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman have a decade-long work relationship concerning Israeli relations with the Gulf states.
