Most Israelis avoided using public transportation on Wednesday following strict Health Ministry instructions to remain indoors and leave the house only when it is absolutely essential. Only 40% of the typical number of passengers used public transport and in Jerusalem the number fell by 50%. The predominantly ultra-Orthodox city of Beni Barak was the exception with 90% of travelers still using public transportation.
