Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the Baumel family on Wednesday that he was bringing their son's remains home.
Sgt. Zachary Baumel went missing in action following the Battle of Sultan Yacoub nearly 40 years ago.
Netanyahu said he was committed to bringing home all those missing in Israel's battles, "Today we are closing a circle," he said.
He thanked the security services for their work in locating and returning Baumel.
