Polish President Andrzeji Duda said on Sunday that the late Simcha Rotem was 'the hero of both nations.' Writing on Twitter, Duda said that the Polish-Jewish fighter, who participated in the Jewish Ghetto Warsaw uprising as well as the Polish Uprising that took place later, was a 'Hero of two nations: the Polish and the Israeli one. May his memory live on.' Rotem passed away on Saturday, he was 94 years old.
