Rivlin visits historical Prime Minister’s Residence at Kirya in Tel Aviv

President Reuven Rivlin visited the historical Prime Minister’s Residence at the Kirya in Tel Aviv on Sunday.
“I was born nine years before the State of Israel was established. This building symbolizes the establishment of the state and the establishment of the IDF,” said the Rivlin. “Anyone born here, even those born before the State of Israel was established, comes into this house and is carried away by the history. It fills me with pride.”
Former prime minister David Ben-Gurion established his office there during the  end of the War of Independence. In September, it was opened to the public after being restored.
“I think every school in Israel should visit here, like they visit the Knesset in Jerusalem and Independence Hall in Tel Aviv. This is a national institution,” said the president.
Rivlin toured the building IDF Chief of Staff Lt-Gen Gadi Eizenkot.
