A certificate of appreciation was awarded to Sgt. Shadi Hir on Tuesday the soldier who thwarted a Palestinian stabbing attack near the “Crusader” checkpoint at the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron on Monday, according to Channel 12.
"Honor and appreciation for thwarting the stabbing attack at the entrance to the Cave of the Patriarchs,'the certificate reads. "Your actions took extraordinary courage, determination, resourcefulness and professionalism. "
The alleged terrorist was apprehended by IDF forces.“A suspect attempted to stab a Border Police officer on duty at a security checkpoint. Officers responded and the suspect was arrested at the scene without drawing fire from the forces," an IDF spokesperson Monday.There were no casualties. The Border Police heightened security in the area.A similar incident happened Monday, when border policemen arrested a Palestinian man carrying a knife, following an attempted attack on Israeli forces at a checkpoint near the tomb.
