Ninet Tayeb to play at Woodstock 50th anniversary festival

The Israeli singer joined an impressive lineup including Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus and Chance the Rapper.

Israeli singer Ninet Tayeb will be joining a diverse and impressive lineup of musicians performing at the Woodstock Festival’s 50th anniversary this summer.

The lineup revealed on Tuesday includes mega-stars like Jay-Z, Imagine Dragons, Miley Cyrus, The Killers, Chance the Rapper, Black Keys and more. The three-day festival on August 16-18 in Watkins Glens, New York, will mark 50 years since the famed musical event drew 400,000 fans from across the US to a dairy farm in upstate New York.

The upcoming festival – staged by original Woodstock co-founder Michael Lang – also includes several performers who appeared at the original event in 1969 or were active then: Santana, Grateful Dead offshoot Dead and Company, Jefferson Airplane offshoot Hot Tuna, Creedence Clearwater Revival founder John Fogerty, Robert Plant, John Sebastian, Melanie, Country Joe Mcdonald and Canned Heat.

Tayeb, who has been based in the US for the last few years, is slated to perform on Friday, August 16, the first day of the festival.

“Good things happen to those who believe (and work f**king hard!),” Tayeb wrote on Instagram on Tuesday alongside a photo of the festival lineup. “Soooo happy to announce I’m gonna be at #woodstockfestival!!”

Tayeb rose to fame in Israel in 2003, after winning the first season of Kochav Nolad (A Star is Born). She went on to have a successful musical career and starred in a TV show based on her life, titled Hashir Shelanu. In 2016, Tayeb decided to move to Los Angeles and pursue an international musical career, shifting from pop music to a focus on rock. Last year, she starred in the popular Israeli TV show When Heroes Fly, which was picked up by Netflix.
