Why wasn't Gal Gadot at the Golden Globes?

The actress skipped this year's ceremony after attending the ones in 2017 and 2018.

She was there in 2017, and then again in 2018. But Gal Gadot was nowhere to be seen at the 2019 Golden Globes in California on Sunday night.
And that's despite the fact that her film, Ralph Breaks the Internet, was nominated for best animated film (it lost).
Where was the Israeli actress? Instead of gracing the red carpet, she was gracing the sandy beaches of the Maldives on vacation with a group of five other Israeli friends. And if social media is any indication, she's been having a whale of a time. Or is it a dolphin?

After wrapping up filming on the Wonder Woman sequel, Gadot arrived in Israel in late December, and spent just over a week in the country, including New Year's Eve - which she celebrated with close friends and her husband, Jaron Varsano.

But when 2019 kicked off, Gadot headed to the Maldives for a girls-only trip with a group of friends, to celebrate the 40th birthday of Yael Goldman Pfeffer (wife of Israeli actor Ori Pfeffer). Though Pfeffer's birthday was actually back in September, it looks like the group - including actress and host Rotem Sela - may have waited until their famous friend could join them for a little rest and relaxation. So far the group have enjoyed sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, dolphin watching and, of course, eating.

I guess we'll just have to wait to see Gadot at the Oscars next month.
