Rain arrived unusually early to southern Sderot on Monday morning, a symbol of the coming winter.

The first rain of the season usually begins in October. The trend is expected to continue for the rest of Monday, with surprisingly low temperatures per season and a partly cloudy sky.
The annual norm for rain in Negba, Israel, a twenty minute drive from Sderot, is 493 mm, according to Israel Meteorological Service.
Israel has been experiencing a
hydrological drought for the past five years, the Water Authority stated in its latest report. While the Water Authority is optimistic about rain forecasts, the drought in the Sea of Galilee basin may continue.
