Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and United States Consul General Donald Blome met at the Mukata, the PA presidential headquarters in Ramallah, on Tuesday.The two sides discussed a number of issues including the change in power in Washington, DC, according to a statement published by Wafa, the official PA news site.Abbas also affirmed his “complete commitment to the message of peace and working together to strengthen bilateral relations to arrive at a just peace and a secure and stable region free of violence and terrorism.” The Wafa statement did not indicate if Abbas and Blome discussed the status of the US Embassy in Israel.Abbas and his aides have carried out a campaign over the past two weeks to discourage US President Donald Trump from relocating the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said on Monday “no decision” has been made yet on the issue of relocating the embassy.
