IAF officer who shot Tel Aviv terrorist: I did what is expected of every soldier
Sec.-Lt. Daniel recounts moments that he realized a terror attack was taking place and acted to neutralize the threat.

The Israel Air Force officer who shot and killed the terrorist who perpetrated a stabbing attack in Tel Aviv on Thursday said that he was "in the right place at the right time."IAF officer Sec.-Lt. Daniel, an officer in the IAF's air defense department, described the moment that he realized a terror attack was taking place on Menahem Begin Street across from the Kirya Military Headquarters in central Tel Aviv."I saw a terrorist stab a soldier. We realized that it was a stabbing attack becuase of the recent events that have been happening in the country. I got out of the car, ran toward him and neutralized him from close range," Sec.-Lt. Daniel said.Police said Thursday that the terrorist, who stabbed four people and snatched a soldier's weapon before he was shot and killed by Sec.-Lt. Daniel, was a 19-year-old east Jerusalem resident who was likely a construction worker at a nearby building site."I think I was in the right place at the right time. And I did what is expected of every fighter in the Air Force and the IDF," Sec.-Lt. Daniel said.The attack in Tel Aviv was one of three to take place in Israel on Thursday afternoon.Earlier on Thursday, an Israeli was seriously wounded in a stabbing attack on Bar Lev Street in Jerusalem.Shortly after the Tel Aviv attack, an Israeli man was stabbed in Kiryat Arba, near Hebron. One person in the Kiryat Arba attack was reportedly in serious condition.
