A Golani Brigade unit thwarted an attempt by a Palestinian to stab a soldier at the Gush Etzion junction, the army said on Thursday.There were no injuries among soldiers in the incident.The attacker has been arrested, and taken for questioning.In December, a Palestinian woman was arrested for stabbing and lightly wounding an Israeli man at the same junction.Separately, B’Tselem alleged that some 200 olive trees saplings were uprooted in the South Hebron Hills near the West Bank settlement of Sussiya.Security sources said that an investigation was opened into the matter and after exploring the area they found that only 50 saplings had been uprooted.In the village of Orif, vandals scrawled graffiti onto a post in a construction site that said “Death to the Arabs.” B’Tselem said it was likely that both acts of vandalism were carried out by Jewish extremists.
