An Israeli soldier was injured during clashes with Palestinian residents who threw pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank during an arrest raid early Thursday morning, the army said.According to Palestinian media, two suspected Hamas members Muhammed and Ahmed As’ad Abu Khalifa were arrested by IDF forces during the raid.Several other operations were carried out throughout the West Bank, including a large-scale operation carried out by IDF, Border Police and Shin Bet on weapons workshop in the West Bank city of Hebron.Eight lathes used for manufacturing weapons were dismantled and seized“This operation represents just one of many operations being conducted in the Judea region each night to seize illegal workshops and weapons,” the army said.Nine wanted Palestinians were also arrested in an overnight operation with Border Police and the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency), including six who were wanted over suspected involvement in terrorism, mass disturbances, and violence towards civilians.Another Palestinian, who was arrested in al-Hashimia, north of the West Bank city of Jenin, is suspected of being a member of Hamas, the army said.According to the army, the IDF also collected evidence from the home of a Palestinian man who opened fire with a Karlin rifle on an army outpost in the village of Aboud, northwest of Ramallah, earlier on Wednesday evening.Security forces believe that most of the shooting attacks which have occurred in the West Bank and inside Israel were carried out with weapons locally produced in the West Bank.Israeli security forces, including the Shin Bet, Israeli Defense Forces and police, have increased their efforts to uncover unofficial workshops producing illegal weapons, carrying out near-nightly raids in the West Bank, shutting down weapons factories and confiscating arms, greatly reducing the number of illegal explosive devices and other weapons that could end up in the hands of potential attackers.
