A Sunday meeting between Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah and Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon in Jerusalem was postponed, Omri Harush, Kahlon’s spokesman said.Last Tuesday, Kahlon said he planned to meet with Hamdallah on Sunday to “advance a number of joint projects.” The two later agreed to a February 19 meeting in Jerusalem because of “scheduling issues,” Harush said in a phone call.Tareq Rishmawi and Yousif Mahmoud, PA government spokesmen, did not respond to calls. A Palestinian official who spoke on condition of anonymity said that while he was told that Hamdallah and Kahlon agreed to meet in the near future, he was unaware of a specific date.In the past several months, Hamdallah and Kahlon have met twice in Ramallah. But since US President Donald Trump’s decisions to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and initiate the relocation of the US Embassy in Tel Aviv to the city, the PA prime minister and Israeli finance minister have not met each other.Previous meetings between Hamdallah and Kahlon have dealt with a variety of issues including industrial zones in the West Bank, the Allenby crossing’s hours of operation, water, electricity and settlement building.
