Report: Abbas threatens to end security coordination with Israel

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told Israeli Shin Bet head Nadav Argaman that if Israel cuts money from the funds the PA pays to terrorists, the Palestinians will end security coordination with Israel, according to a report by Israel's public broadcaster KAN.Argaman met Abbas last week in Ramallah, according to the report. The two discussed the ongoing ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas, but also other topics, including the Fatah conference next week where it is expected that the organization will take public positions against Hamas, Israel and the United States. Argaman attempted to walk Abbas back from his positions against Israel, among others canceling the security coordination.In a meeting with members of Peace Now last month, Abbas said that he meets regularly with the Shin Bet head and that they agree on 99% of the issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
