Idelson 10 offers one of the best breakfasts in Tel Aviv.
By NORA BERLIN
The upscale café bistro Idelson 10 on Ben-Yehuda St. in Tel Aviv is upgrading its breakfast, already considered one of the best in town. The breakfasts (NIS 51) now include eggs any style, with additions such as asparagus and onion, roasted peppers, feta, and potatoes and more.(between NIS 4-12 for each addition). If you choose to have boiled eggs – or as they are called there “eggs a-la-coq” – they’ll cook them to the exact degree you desire, and that is no small feat. The eggs are served in pretty hen-shaped dishes with freshly baked savory bread sticks to dip in the egg yolk, as well as salads, spreads, cheeses and the lot (NIS 49).Besides eggs, one gets a bowl of salad and a tray with many small dishes with antipasti, cheeses, spreads, beetroot salad, tuna salad, quinoa salad and more with each breakfast. One of the highlights is the bread basket – filled with wonderful buns, scones and breads served with butter and locally made jam. Very good coffee and freshly squeezed juice are part of the deal. There are other breakfast options as well, such as brioche with spinach and egg yolk topped with Gouda cheese and grilled, served with green salad (NIS 46) or homemade granola with yogurt, fruit and honey. (NIS 36).But you cannot enjoy the true essence of the place unless you try at least one of the wonderful cakes from the rich and tempting display, especially the éclairs and macaroons.
