It's been nearly 12 years since Bjork, Iceland's most famous export, performed in Israel. The eccentric singer-songwriter-actress, has been
nominated for 13 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Academy award, when she famously donned a homemade swan costume.
Now the eccentric singer has plans to return here on July 31, accompanied by her 39 person team and 9 tons of equipment. Included in her entourage is a 10 woman Icelandic band, who will join her on stage, all dressed in the cutting edge designs of Bernhard Wilhelm.
Bjork's visit will be preceded by her representatives, who will likely tour Park HaYarkon in Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan Stadium as potential performance locations.
The singer is currently on a worldwide tour to promote her latest album, Volta, released last May. She most recently performed in Australia, New Zealand, China and Japan and is about to embark on the European leg of her tour. According to organizers, one euro from every ticket sold will go toward to UNICEF.
