Allon & I discuss the latest news in Israeli soccer as training camps for most of the clubs are already in full swing! Especially Kiryat Shemona who have a Champions League Qualifier later this month. Other teams who we looked at in the podcast include Maccabi Tel Aviv under new Sports Director Jordi Cruyff & brand new coach Óscar García, Hapoel Tel Aviv whose ownership is still up in the air and many of the other clubs!
We also took a quick look at Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club and then focused on the upcoming Olympics and the great Israeli athletes that will be trying to take home medals for our country. Allon talked about Lee Korzits, Jonatan Kopolev & Gidi Kliger among the many Israeli participants.
Next on tap was The Last Word segment with Jeremy Last! Jeremy always brings his concise and brilliant analysis to the airwaves as no other football commentator around the world can as well took a look back at the Euro 2012 Tournament and Champions Spain! Jeremy and I also took a hard look at what Israel must do to move their Football program in the right direction in order to compete on the highest stages! We also discussed the Israeli Soccer League and the mysterious disappearance of Guma Aguiar off the Florida coast.
Jon Scheiman of True Hoops NY then joined The Sports Rabbi as we took at look at Steve Nash and where the free agent will land up. We also discussed the NBA Draft, which players will help their team’s, the surprises and the potential the draft can be to teams who need to improve in a position or as a team as a whole. From New Orleans & Cleveland to Toronto & Miami we cover it all with the Sports Rabbi’s home grown talent!
Dave Faris, our MLB correspondent out West gave us his thoughts on the upcoming All Star games, the rosters and Home Run Derby! We also looked at the current standings and wondered what has happened to the LA Dodgers?!?!
To close the show as every week, Doc Ike our NHL reporter gave us his thoughts and analysis on the NHL’s free agent period where the Montreal Canadiens picked up 3 players to bring a little more grittiness to their game! The Habs also resigned Carey Price to a long term deal as other teams also make plenty of moves to strengthen their rosters! We also talked about potential trades and the potential for a work stoppage with Don Fehr as Union Head.
