Welcome to the new apartment of a couple in their 60s, designed by interior designer Shai David. This is the eighth project David has undertaken for the family, having previously designed several properties for the two as well as some of the children's apartments. "The projects we carried out together over the years were designed in completely different styles, with each of them having its own story and character - from the Middle Ages to classic," recalls the designer.

"Before moving to the apartment, which is located on the 43rd floor of a sought-after project in the center of Tel Aviv, the two lived in an apartment located on a lower floor in the building. Before the purchase, we examined together the implications of the move: what the costs would be and what would be required to be done before entering when their request was one: to the site A property that will require a minimum of adjustments and structural changes, so that most of the work and the budget will be invested in designing meticulous spaces that precisely meet their needs and tastes. Indeed, the apartment chosen met exactly the requirement from the beginning."

"This is a design project as usual, with the main work process focused on the selection of lighting fixtures, furniture and carpentry details, carpets, wallpapers and art. This time, the couple wanted to create a clean and detached apartment with a Scandinavian design, which radiates a sense of freedom. The shell we originally received was mostly grayish, so we chose to incorporate It has elements in light shades on the purity of white, cream, champagne, coffee and gray, with measured and reasoned colored touches that return and repeat in the various spaces and contribute greatly to the creation of a harmonious, cultural and pleasant living space."

"Over the years I have realized that spaces based on order, visual cleanliness and repetition are the most pleasant and as such they are also temporary, as is the case with this apartment, when the goal that stood before our eyes was to create a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere as much as possible and therefore the design is mostly repetitious, one that relaxes the eye, and creates an atmosphere that simply It's fun to live and stay in," explains the designer. "I focused on color based on tone-on-tone-on-tone, and I chose items many of which are textural and decorated with geometric and three-dimensional patterns so that even though the shell is mostly airy and bright, the resulting look is interpreted as a pile of layers and layers."

The spacious apartment includes a public wing with a living room, a kitchen and a dining area and a private wing where there is a guest room, a study (which is used as an additional guest room when necessary), the couple's master bedroom and the bathrooms: "The living room is very large in area and as such we chose pieces of furniture of the right scale for it And they contribute a lot in creating the warm and enveloping feeling that surrounds it. Most of them were purchased at 'Nisoo Furniture', for example a large, deep and luxurious sofa that is almost 4 m long and the living room table, measuring 1.6/2.2 m, which was chosen so that everyone present would be comfortable Reach out and reach for the glass of wine or coffee. "As in the entire apartment, we also emphasized perfect synchronization between the tones and shades, which are repeated in different interpretations in the various items.

For the central wall, which continues and wraps around the corridor that leads to the master bedroom, we chose a textural wallpaper, in a color very similar to the light shade of the sofa and chaise longue, although the concrete is slightly darker. So is the carpet spread under the seating system, which also fits into the color scale but is darker in color."

"The table in the center is made of natural wood and the upper plate is upholstered in embossed leather with a crocodile pattern in a Nes-coffee shade. The armchairs placed perpendicular to the sofa practically bring together all the shades in this space and the geometric pattern printed on the fabric gives them a dynamic and lively look, just the right amount." "On the back of the sofa stands a console that serves as a kind of hybrid corner, both for work when needed and for entertainment, so that those sitting in the living room can place their cup of coffee or champagne on it. The library was custom made for the project and consists of a metal construction in a delicate champagne tone and a closed multimedia unit and shelves made of ashad wood. In the upper part it is open and airy, this is in order not to block the existing decorator grill that merges the space.

We deliberately chose to place the TV screen on top of the multimedia unit and not hang it at a height because it is ergonomically easier and more comfortable to watch in this position. On top of the open shelves, we combined a work by Cadishman and decorative and art details that are partly made of pottery and others of recycled and three-dimensional acrylic material. Here, too, we kept organic colors such as Vans coffee cream, which contributes greatly to the Nordic, natural and pleasant look we wanted to create."

In the axis that connects the living room to the kitchen is the dining area: "We placed accessories on top of the open compartments of the light carpentry. The dining table consists of curved iron legs and a tight oval aluminum plate. We placed wooden chairs around it that fit well with the bar stools in the kitchen and on the floor we spread a silk rug that anchors the corner and gathers In it, bright colors such as red, brown and dark add character and interest - so do the vases that were placed on the table. The same bright colors also return in the work of art that was hung above the console furniture in the kitchen area - these are two of the few items that the couple chose to move from their previous homes to their new apartment as well."

"In the bathrooms, we replaced the sinks and toilets. We chose new lighting fixtures, hung mirrors and incorporated decorative details that contribute to the tidy and clean look. On the floor in the couple's bedroom, we spread an especially large rug in a pearl shade, with a 3D geometric pattern that adds a lot of warmth and interest despite The light shade. On both sides of the white bed, we combined dark nightstands with sculptural lighting fixtures in a bottle green shade, a color that is also present and prominent in the accessories chosen for the public space - a shade that creates a frame and connects the wings."
