Kim Kardashian is under fire for listing a "dirty" Birkin bag from Hermès on their family sale site, called Kardashian Kloset.
The 43-year-old founder of Skims, as we already know she has a very impressive collection of Hermes handbags, has decided to sell one of the rare models in her collection and is asking $70,000 for the rare light gray matte alligator leather handbag, marked as "good" condition.
However, another description of the handbag adds that there is "discoloration on the handles and the lower corners of the base, and light scratches on the metal", which in vintage language is still considered reasonable condition. The description also states that the bag does not include a CITES certificate - a document required when you plan to fly with a bag or accessory made of exotic leather that includes a crocodile.
Fans were of course quick to criticize the billionaire trying to resell a used bag, with one person tweeting, "Seriously, how desperate are they for money?", another commented, "So embarrassing. Why don't they restore it at Hermes before the sale?" . The comments continued, with another user writing: "70 thousand dollars for a dirty bag, mercifully!", "Is this even real?" another man wondered.
However, after looking around we found that the $70k price might not be the worst deal, as similar bags in new condition can be found for $120k.
Kardashian, who showed off her handbag collection in her $60 million home earlier this month, has added several more handbags to the family's sales website. Earlier this month, she listed her blue alligator Birkin bag on the site for $49,995.
She also put in two more Birkinis, and several Louis Vuitton duffel bags and Chanel items.
