The Product
Shark, the vacuum brand exclusively distributed in Israel by Shrig, introduces the new WD213 HYDRO VAC wet vacuum. This device combines three functions in one: suction, wiping, and cleaning of all surfaces including floors, tiles, parquet, and carpets.
The WD213 HYDRO VAC comes with an anti-microbial brush to prevent odors and bacteria, along with two tanks: an XL cleaning tank (500 ml) and a dirty water tank (360 ml) for maximum convenience and efficiency.
According to the importer, "The WD213 HYDRO VAC features Anti-Odour cleaning fluid technology for eliminating bad smells and refreshing all types of surfaces to maintain a clean home with a fresh scent. Additionally, the new vacuum boasts a smart digital screen for monitoring battery status, controlling suction power, and selecting surface type. With Shark's new vacuum, you can easily and efficiently clean all types of dirt - stains, liquids, debris, and accumulated grime. LED lights illuminate the intended vacuuming area."
Review
Wet vacuums are no longer a novelty; the technology keeps advancing. However, they still don't replace mops and buckets entirely. Neither does this vacuum. So why did we like it?
Firstly, it's easy to operate and relatively low-maintenance. From our experience with wet vacuums, maintenance can be a hassle. Disassembly and reassembly are straightforward, as is cleaning it. Secondly, for those trying to maintain a livable home daily, it does the job. With a cat and a dog, relying on this vacuum once or twice a week doesn't suffice, but vacuuming requires no special effort, and doing it once a day or every other day definitely helps keep the floor clean. Another advantage of this vacuum is that unlike many other competitors, you're not obligated to clean with the fluid provided.
Final Verdict
Let's be honest - this vacuum, like any other wet vacuum, and essentially like almost any hybrid device, doesn't suck as well as a corded vacuum and doesn't clean as well as a mop and bucket. Yet, it's an excellent device with high value for those who prefer to do a little every day and maintain their home at a decent level of cleanliness, rather than dreading Friday and turning the home upside down. We really liked it.
Is it worth NIS 1,890? At the price range of vacuums in this genre, it falls within the mid-range, which makes it a worthwhile purchase in my eyes.
