On June 5, World Environment Day will be celebrated around the globe, and as every year, the conversation about the climate crisis becomes more prominent and important. However, even in 2024, many still believe that taking simple actions to protect the environment is complicated and cumbersome. The truth is, change begins gradually and with small details, within our homes. So how can we help protect the planet? Here are some household products that will help you preserve the environment.

Beko's SaveWater Technology

The home appliance brand Beko specializes in advanced SaveWater technology, which is found in their dishwashers, washing machines, and dryers - in fact, in all the products we use daily. This technology was developed to address household water waste while still providing perfect cleaning, helping households use water more efficiently.

For example, in the dishwasher, this technology saves the final rinse water in the cycle to use it at the beginning of the next wash. A standard dishwasher uses an average of 9.5 liters, but with the new technology, it uses only 6.9 liters, saving 2.6 liters of water with each wash. This is quite significant.

In the washing machine and dryer, the technology maximizes water usage. By placing the dryer on or next to the washing machine, the dryer collects the water accumulated from drying and uses it in the next wash. Genius, right?

BioCycle RefrigeratorIn addition to water-saving technology, Beko has managed to produce a refrigerator made of durable biological plastic components, such as egg trays made from surplus eggshells and bioplastic. Each refrigerator contains two egg trays made from the shells of five eggs, and the door seal strip contains 25% biological materials, like soybean oil. Additionally, the fan cover is entirely made from sustainable sources, such as corn starch or sugarcane.
