Testing Taiyo's ceiling fan: Is a six-mode fan necessary?

Taiyo's ceiling fan offers LED lighting, six-speed settings, and a stylish design. We tested it to see if it's worth the NIS 1,190 price tag despite the lack of a smart app. Here’s our verdict.

Product: Taiyo 48" Ceiling FanDescription: Ceiling fan with lighting and six speed settingsTrial Period: One monthMarketed by: Sirius ElectronicsRecommended Price: NIS 1,190

The Product

The Taiyo 48" ceiling fan features wooden blades and offers six adjustable speed settings to suit personal preferences: settings 1-2 provide a gentle breeze, settings 3-4 offer a natural wind, and settings 5-6 deliver a cold gust. The integrated LED lighting comes in three colors—cool white (ideal for office lighting), natural white (suitable for reading), and warm white (perfect for watching TV).

The fan includes a Winter Mode, where the blades rotate clockwise to circulate warm air, and a "Summer Mode," which rotates the blades counterclockwise to circulate cool air.

Our Opinion

A ceiling fan essentially does one thing—circulates air in a room. So what more can we say? Not a lot.

However, this product stands out for its exceptional design. It's important to remember that a ceiling fan is a central fixture in a home, and it must blend seamlessly with the space. Fans of a classic look will love its delicate and refined appearance.

On a personal note, the lack of a smart app doesn't bother me much. Still, many people today prefer smart home integration, so this could be considered a drawback for some.

The Verdict

For beauty, one must pay. NIS 1,190 isn't cheap (a fan at half the price could do the job), but the design here is too stunning to pass up.
