Hyundai's importer, Colmobil, has initiated an early sale of the performance version of Hyundai Ioniq 5 - the Ioniq 5N. The car is offered to early buyers at NIS 400,000, defined as a discounted price compared to what will be set for other cars arriving in the country, especially amidst plans to further increase the purchase tax on electric vehicles in early 2025. The importer has not indicated potential future price increases, although previous estimates hovered around NIS 420,000 to NIS 450,000.

However, there's a catch: to benefit from the discounted price, a NIS 10,000 deposit is required upfront, compared to the usual NIS 2,000 collected by importers at the time of order. Additionally, it is specified that the deposit will not be refunded in case of cancellation.

The Ioniq 5N has undergone extensive improvements under the oversight of Hyundai's performance division engineers, who made broad adjustments to the vehicle's geometry, dimensions, and stiffness, alongside the integration of an aggressive power unit with a different power transfer system.

The power unit is equipped with two electric motors producing a combined 609 horsepower under normal conditions, or 650 horsepower when the car's N Grin Boost feature is activated, translating to an additional 345 horsepower compared to the standard Ioniq 5 with dual-motor drive.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.4 seconds aided by a transmission control system, with a top speed limited to 260 km/h. Its new 84 kWh battery allows a driving range of about 448 kilometers. A high-voltage electric system (800V) enables ultra-fast charging at 240 kW, achieving a charging time of 18-36 minutes from 10% to 80%.
