After much anticipation, Dome Expo Dead Sea, a sprawling new conference center for concerts, conventions, business events, and international festivals, is set to open next month in the Dead Sea area. This state-of-the-art facility, developed with an investment of approximately NIS 120 million, will accommodate up to 5,000 attendees. Its design includes a massive 23-meter-high inflatable dome that resembles a giant golf ball from a distance and spans five dunams.
Located in the Ein Bokek area, the Dome Expo is just a 15-minute walk from the under-construction Dead Sea Mall, which is scheduled to open within the next year.
The technical operations of the complex will be managed by Point 2 Point, a group specializing in advanced TV studio operations and broadcast vehicles, as well as technical equipment for conferences, conventions, business events, performances, and exhibitions. Chosen from numerous contenders, Point 2 Point will oversee all technical aspects of the new expo, including amplification, lighting, LED screens, multimedia, broadcast vehicles, satellite communication, laser projectors, and more. The group has already installed world-class sound and lighting systems in the complex, valued at millions of shekels.
Erez Kuriel, CEO and owner of Point 2 Point, described the project as a professional challenge of international standards. "We are prepared to bring the international experience to Israel and provide the Israeli culture and music consumer with an experience on par with the concert halls of Las Vegas and Dubai. Point 2 Point is ready for the challenge thanks to our extensive experience managing video and audio systems for major events, conventions, and conferences in Israel. I thank the developers for their confidence in choosing us to lead the complex for the next decade."
Additionally, the venue is equipped to broadcast live events to any location in Israel and worldwide.
Dome Expo is expected to revitalize both local and international tourism to the Dead Sea. Despite being a global natural wonder, the area has struggled in recent decades to offer its numerous visitors vibrant cultural and dining experiences.
Constructed in the shape of a dome visible from afar, similar to international venues like the O2 Arena in London, the Dome Expo's structure was raised a few months ago using air pressure from giant compressors.
Negotiations are currently underway with major content providers in Israel to produce several festivals in the complex in 2025, including beer festivals. Plans also include Friday Shabbat services featuring leading artists for the benefit of hotel guests in the Dead Sea area.
The project, which began construction in 2020 but faced delays due to the pandemic and conflicts, is backed by developer and landowner Moti Green, owner of Barclays Initiatives and the Flying Carpet company.
