Lesbos, one of the largest islands in Greece and Europe in general, has been considered for years a secret destination that not many people know about. The island offers beaches with clear turquoise water, traditional taverns with fine local food and charming picturesque villages. Now, a vacation in Lesbos has become more accessible than ever thanks to direct flights at unprecedented prices - and this is exactly the time to get there before everyone else and enjoy an authentic Greek experience.

Villages in Lesbos

The island of Lesbos has dozens of picturesque villages with pastoral landscapes. The residents make a living from local produce, first and foremost ouzo and olive oil. The landscapes on the island include endless plantations and small fishing ports. Places like Petra, Agiassos, Skala Kalonis and more, offer everyone the opportunity to enjoy a combination of top-class hotels with wild nature and attractions of various types.

The most famous village on Lesbos is Molybos, which is situated on a picturesque hill in the northern part of the island. Molybos offers an impressive fortress from the 14th century, an amazing beach and dozens of narrow stone alleys where you will find cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. The view from the top of the hill, especially at sunset, is a once-in-a-lifetime romantic experience.

Beaches on Lesbos

Lesbos has dozens of beautiful Mediterranean-style beaches, with warm and clear water and lots of sun. You can find organized beaches with umbrellas, taverns, etc., beaches for water sports where you can rent equipment, and also wild beaches that are harder to reach (for those of you who are already preparing for the next season of survival, or just looking for the experience of a desert island at the end of the world).

If you ask us, the beach not to be missed is undoubtedly Skala Aresos. It is a romantic beach, which offers an experience of peace and quiet, combined with traditional beach restaurants that serve fish, fresh seafood and other classic Greek dishes. If you are lucky, you can watch sea turtles, fish and other local animals. Excellent for couples and families.

Attractions in Lesbos

Lesbos is a calm island, which is suitable for those who like vacations with a lot of nature, historical sites, museums, food and especially beaches. The island offers amazing spaces with natural hot springs, parks, water sports and other attractions. In terms of entertainment and nightlife, you can find many options in a light atmosphere - cafes, bars on the beach, and also some clubs.

One of the most unique attractions is the Lesbos Petrified Forest. This is an ancient geological wonder: a forest of trees preserved by boiling lava about 20 million years ago. Inside this strange sight you can go for a walk, and also visit a museum that explains the history of the place. You should not miss it.

Bottom line: Lesbos is the third largest island in Greece, and one of the most beautiful. Somehow, it remained pristine and hidden from the Israeli public until now. Just before it becomes touristy and busy like the neighboring islands, you have the opportunity to catch direct flights to Lesbos and close the perfect vacation at the right moment.
