You will have to believe us when we say that this is not an easy job, not easy at all. To try out all the new products that come out to the Israeli market (and sometimes outside of it), to taste in front of everyone, deliveries and more deliveries, paper bags that accumulate in the office (and at home), a never-ending feeling of satiety. Seriously, it's harder than it looks, and no one is paying you to go to the gym, or compensating you for the rapidly developing sense of FOMO in your mind. For all the articles in the "New on the Shelf" section, however, the "New on the Shelf" section, for its tasters, curious and loyal consumers, has set off again, determined and mission-oriented. And this time - something to dip, something to drink, something to hoop. Yes, we are very eclectic.
Pieces, Ben & Jerry's
Considerably late, but very forgivable in light of the circumstances (and our desires), the piece version of the popular ice cream brand is being introduced in Israel. And its reception is very fast.
The Ben & Jerry's Pieces are actually perfectly sized ice cream bars for elimination, style ice cream parlors if you want to go back to the real basics. They come, for now, in two flavors - cream ice cream with vanilla and a cookie dough core covered with fudge and cookie crumbs and cream ice cream with salted caramel and a brownie core covered with fudge and cookie crumbs - both of which provide an ideal experience, textural and tasty, and so needed right now. Soy-based chocolate, Alpro
The old milk substitute brand is expanding its popular Not Milk series, launching a requested and required drink. The chocolate, in a liter carton, is enriched with calcium and vitamins and guarantees enjoyment from the refrigerator and As Is. The first option, which was more automatic for us, was also the chosen option, and the whole experience was interesting to the point of checking that the story was indeed based on soy. The texture is excellent (thick but not heavy), the sip is smooth and the taste is almost completely milky-chocolate.
In six words: definitely not only for the abstainers.
Cremugit Crunch, Osem
The old series of cookies shakes and expands with a new launch, a stamp for four coffees (or for an equally excellent dip in the chocolate above). Cremugit Crunch is, as you would expect, the same familiar and excellent cookie as usual, with vanilla cream containing crunchy cookie fragments.
The spin-off includes, for now, a classic dough cream puff filled with vanilla-flavored cream with cookie crumbs as well as a chocolate-flavored cream puff pastry filled with vanilla-flavored cream with cookie crumbs - both with a slightly surprising sweetness in its balances, both with texture plays that live up to the promise and both with a non-gimmicky concept, But successful, and tasty.

The Tipsy Wizard - Shevet
The excellent boutique brewery from Pardes Hana expands its shelves and offer with a real magic act, and at the same time invites the audience to Tuesday and Friday gatherings in its happy beer garden, for the food stalls, the music and the pours it brings together. Shevet's The Tipsy Wizard is a strong Belgian Golden Ale-style beer, defined as "triple fruity and powerful". It contains 9% alcohol, declares an implicit aroma of banana and pine nuts and above all provides a real kick of the end of the day (or the middle of it, who are we to judge), with presence and taste. Price: NIS 80 for six, NIS 155 for a dozen, NIS 285 for 24 bottles.

Fish nuggets, Tnuva
The freezer section is getting a serious boost of attention and investment from the food giant. Tnuva's double launch includes tilapia nuggets in tempura (NIS 27.50-44.90 per 450 gram package) and fish schnitzel based on whole pieces of the same tilapia (NIS 27.50-43.90 per 450 gram package). The frozen products, which are waiting to go directly into a fryer, oven or some kind of air fryer, initially aroused skepticism based on many years of average and below experience in the category.
This is not the case now. They are excellent for their type, fishy enough to eliminate skepticism but not aggressively fishy, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and go well on a plate with a side dish, or as part of an elaborate sandwich.

Satay sauce, Master Chef
One of the most prominent shortages on the local sauce shelf is getting a quick solution from the energy food brand. The peanut sauce produced in Thailand naturally joins Master Chef's oriental collection, which includes soy and teriyaki of course, but also sesame oil and sriracha, even more so of course. It exhibits a certain sweetness that speaks loudly to the Israeli audience, and an excellent thickness that is suitable as an early marinade, as a real sauce - or even as a dip on its own (say, for the nuggets above) - at the end of the preparation. Price: NIS 15.90 for a 360 ml bottle.
