Chargeasap's Zeus 280W: Convenient & fast laptop charging

Instead of carrying around several chargers, Chargeasap's Zeus 280W can charge 4 gadgets at the same time and become the best friend of laptop users in the office.

The amount of gadgets we need to charge every day or every few days is constantly increasing, whether it's the smartphone, headphones, tablet, laptop or smart watch. There are various solutions on the market for charging several devices at the same time, but I don't remember a charger that offers such a large power of 280 watts, like that of the Australian company Chargeasap, which specializes in various charging products, such as: Chargers, cables and portable batteries.

Almost two years ago I reviewed the Chargeasap charger called - Zeus 270W and now they have a slightly more powerful and improved charger, the Zeus 280W. Thanks to the addition of 10 watts, Chargeasap makes a more convenient distribution of the power between the connections. While in the previous model it was a single 140 watt connection, 2 100 watt connections and another 22.5 watt connection, in the new model the division is 2 140 watt USB-C connections, a 100 watt USB-C connection and another 65 watt connection. Basically, this charger has no problem using its two 140 watt connections at the same time.

Chargeasap is very proud that their charger can replace Apple's charger designed for the MacBook Pro 16, which comes with a power of 140 watts. In this charger you can charge two bottles of this type at the same time, but the price here is also more expensive, almost double.

In its connections, the Zeus 280W gives priority to charging the laptop, so the connection called C1 gets priority for outputting 140 watts of power, when removing and inserting devices to the other inputs does not interfere with it.

So if you don't have a MacBook Pro 16 (or another laptop that benefits from a connection with such a power), then why do you even need a charger with such a strong power, if in the end there are chargers in the 100 watt region today, which will not have any difficulty charging your laptop and smartphone with it temporarily? This model will not necessarily use the maximum charge of your smartphone (especially Android models), but it does provide a solution for those who sit in the office and want to charge several laptops at the same time (for example, for the colleagues sitting next to them).

Zeus 280W - screen, so that you know how much electricity your gadget receives

It's nice to have fast chargers, but we don't really know how much energy they're getting at any given moment. The Zeus 280W includes a color screen that provides an indication of the watt each device consumes, so you can understand if our smartphone or tablet is getting the maximum energy it needs. This is a solution that charging geeks will appreciate, but probably to the simpler user, it will look strange.

Since many smartphone manufacturers have different standards for their fast charging, it is difficult to get the most out of this charger. I charged the Xiaomi 14T Pro here which supports 120W fast charging, I was able to get 54W here, which is not bad in general, but not close to what you can get with the original Xiaomi charger. I also tried charging Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra, which offers a maximum charge of 45 watts, here I couldn't get more than 22 watts.

Regarding other manufacturers such as: One Plus, Oppo, Vivo and Huawei, you get 22.5 watts here. In any case, you should know that the charger supports Apple Fast Charging and Samsung Adaptive Fast Charging, alongside Qualcomm QC 3.0.

Zeus 280W – one charger for trips around the world

In terms of design, it doesn't seem that the company gave emphasis to this issue, it is a simple white or black box, and its weight is 380 grams. It may sound like a lot, but many loads of this type are usually not light.

What's more, the kit includes charging adapters for many countries in the world and of course the charger is also suitable for Israel. The original charging connector integrated inside the charger is American and on it you can connect the appropriate adapters for Europe, England and Australia.

Bottom line, the Zeus 280W comes to provide a solution for those who have a laptop that knows how to use the power of 140 watts, when they want to charge several more devices at the same time, without compromising the power they receive. This product can fit into a workspace where two or three employees want to charge their computers at the same time so they can work with one charger.
