Chris Heider, a particularly talented and creative father, built a pampering platform bed for his young daughter from particularly surprising raw materials: Seven kitchen cabinets from IKEA.

While a bed of this size would have cost him several thousand shekels at IKEA and more than that at other stores - Haider spent only $480 on this complex project, with which he purchased 7 kitchen cabinets from IKEA, several wooden beams, panels, carpet and handles.

Despite the choice of IKEA, Haider explains in the video (which has already been viewed 32 million times since it was published in 2016) that any kitchen cabinet could have suited him.

And this is what the whole process looks like

If you are also bothered by the thought of sleeping on cabinets that are not designed to hold a lot of weight - Haider tested the capabilities of the cabinets and is quick to reassure, "The bed was tested with three adults and two dogs, so I am not worried about carrying the weight. The bed is very strong and does not sink even under my weight (And I'm a big guy). Really, don't worry about the weight." We are still trying to assemble the folding table we bought from IKEA - and it even comes in one piece.

And since then many more have imitated him

Other people learned from his success - such as Joel Sessold who was fired from his job as a marketing manager during the Corona virus and was unable to afford new furniture. Joel, who lives in England with his wife Natalie and their two daughters, built an entire bed for himself and his wife in just one day and according to him the improvised bed cost 350 pounds (about NIS 1,600) - which saved him more than 700 pounds (NIS 3,300).
